A prostanoid receptor that is a translation product of the human PTGIR gene or a 1:1 ortholog thereof. The preferred ligand is prostacyclin (prostaglandin I2, PGI2). This receptor is widely distributed in blood platelets, vascular smooth muscle and nerve cells.
