name: formin-1 isoform 5 (mouse)
def: "A formin-1 (mouse) that is a translation product of some mRNA whose exon structure and start site selection renders it capable of giving rise to a protein with the amino acid sequence represented by UniProtKB:Q05860-5." [PRO:KRC, PMID:14647292, PMID:8516300]
comment: Category=organism-sequence. Note: In PMID:8516300, the amino acid sequences of five formin isoforms were predicted from cDNA sequences and each was produced by in vitro transcription and translation to characterize the apparent molecular masses by SDS-PAGE. The mRNA for isoform IV was also detected in NIH 3T3 cells and primary fibroblast cells and can also be immunoprecipitated from these cells. In PMID:14647292, using the yeast two-hybrid system with alpha-catenin as the bait isolated two independent formin1 clones, one corresponding to formin-1 (IV) and the other a novel transcript called formin-1 (V).
