  Definition"An apoptosis regulator BAX that is a translation product of some mRNA whose exon structure and start site selection renders it capable of giving rise to a protein with the amino acid sequence represented by UniProtKB:Q07812-4 or a 1:1 ortholog thereof. Isoform 4 has in common with isoform 1 the N-terminal (first 30 residues) and C-terminal regions, but differs from isoform 1 in that the former lacks a region of about 50 residues, that includes the BH3 motif region, therefore isoform 4 contains a partial copy of the Bcl-2 domain."
