  Synonyms
PRO-Short-label: EXACT:mFSCB/Phos:1
PRO-proteoform-std: NARROW:UniProtKB:A1EGX6-1, Ser-25/Ser-57/Ser-186/Ser-275/Ser-365/Ser-1020, MOD:00046|(Ser-161, MOD:00046 or Thr-163, MOD:00047)
Other: RELATED:FSCB phosphorylated (mouse)
Definition"A fibrous sheath CABYR-binding protein (mouse) that has been phosphorylated on at least one and at most seven of the following sites: Ser-25, Ser-57, (Ser-161 or Thr-163), Ser-186, Ser-275, Ser-365, and Ser-1020 of the amino acid sequence represented by UniProtKB:A1EGX6-1. Example: UniProtKB:A1EGX6-1, Ser-25/Ser-57/Ser-186/Ser-275/Ser-365/Ser-1020, MOD:00046|(Ser-161, MOD:00046 or Thr-163, MOD:00047)." [PMID:17855365, PRO:DAN, PRO:KRC]
CommentNote: In PMID:17855365, to determine native phosphorylation sites, FSCB was immunoprecipitated from mouse sperm, separated by SDS-PAGE. A 270-kDa band immunoreactive with anti-FSCB serum was cored from a parallel silver stained gel and subjected to mass spectrometric phosphopeptide analysis. This produced evidence of 7 different sites, however for one of them, there are two possible sites within the same singly phosphorylated phosphopeptide, so the analysis does not allow determination between Ser-161 and Thr-163. Two of these sites observed to be phosphorylated in vivo are canonical PKA sites (Rx[ST]). In vitro analysis of recombinant FSCB indicates that it is a substrate for purified PKA, but does not indicate which sites.
